Our story
The story of LANO Švėkšna began in October 2008 – as a simple eatery and kebab place in a small space shared with a butcher’s shop. From the very beginning, family members worked here, so this place has always been more than just a business – it is family work, everyday care and a long-standing story.
Later, when more space became available, a kitchen was set up, and the menu was expanded with daily lunch specials, steaks, snacks and other filling dishes. Until 2021, this place was known simply as an eatery and kebab place. In 2021, pizzas were added to the menu, the name LANO appeared, and a new chapter began.
The name LANO was created from the first letters of the owner’s grandchildren’s names, which gives it a special personal meaning. Today, LANO Švėkšna is a family-run cozy eatery and pizzeria where you can eat in or order food to take away.
A map with guest stories
One of the most distinctive interior details at LANO is the map on the wall. We place pins on it to mark the countries from which our guests have visited us.
Over the years, LANO has welcomed people not only from Lithuania, but also from very distant corners of the world – Fiji, Australia, Japan, Brazil, African countries and many other places. Each pin on the map reminds us that even in small Švėkšna, different stories, journeys and people can meet.
For us, it is not just an interior detail. It is a living memory of everyone who has stopped by for a meal, visited while travelling or simply discovered LANO while passing by.
And if you have visited us and would like to become part of this map, you can leave your digital pin here.
